John Jewell - President & CEO
Mr. Jewell began his IT career in 1986 as a Field Engineer for Norfolk-based System Management Corporation. He provided engineering services on a federal contract with the Department of Health and Human Services. In 1989 he moved to Electronic Data Systems (EDS), based out of Plano, Texas. During his time there, Mr. Jewell became a Lead Engineer and Team Leader and was certified by Novell, Microsoft, IBM, Compaq, AST, Apple and Hewlett Packard. In 1997, Mr. Jewell joined Dell Computer, based out of Round Rock, Texas as a Systems Engineer. He worked closely with some of Dell’s largest federal government customers providing engineering consulting to CIO and IT Directors. He was quickly promoted within Dell and helped Dell accumulate market share for servers and storage in the federal government and healthcare sectors. Mr. Jewell received multiple Dell awards in recognition of his achievements. In 2002, Mr. Jewell founded Jewell Technical Consulting (JTC) on the theory that the latest and greatest technology was not available to small businesses. After 15 years in big business, he began to provide “Big Business Solutions for the Small Business Budget.” With the help of his wife Nora, he began building a successful business out of his basement. In short time, Mr. Jewell opened an office in Manassas and quickly established a reputation as a professional, competent leading edge IT Solutions Provider which he still enjoys today. JTC has rapidly grown from a small, one-person startup to a recognizable company serving customers throughout Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Mr. Jewell expects to continue this rapid growth in 2011 as he emphasizes the benefits of hosted and managed services. |
